Alex asked on a Sunday morning, in the kitchen, before the coffee was even on. There was no kneeling and no view. There was a small ring he'd been carrying around for a fortnight and a quiet "yes" that felt like the easiest word we'd ever said.
We're a year out from the wedding and in no rush to plan it. For now we're keeping things small: a party at the house, a proper photo or two, the engraving on the ring. If you'd like to mark the start of it with us, this is the list.
