$200 with a small processing fee to publish your registry.
On each gift, you choose who covers the processing fees: your guests, you or split between you.
What that looks like in practice
Your aunt sends you a $100 gift. Here's where every dollar goes under each of the three fee-payer settings, shown on the page, not hidden behind a calculator widget.
Guests cover
Default. Your guests top up at checkout so you receive the round amount.
Aunt sends a gift of$100.00
Aunt is charged$106.66
Stripe processing (incl. GST)$3.66
WellWishes$3.00
You receive$100.00
Split between you
Symmetric: your guest tops up half the fees, you absorb the other half.
Aunt sends a gift of$100.00
Aunt is charged$103.33
Stripe processing (incl. GST)$3.76
WellWishes$2.90
You receive$96.67
You absorb
Your aunt pays the round number, you take the fees out of the gift.
Aunt sends a gift of$100.00
Aunt is charged$100.00
Stripe processing (incl. GST)$3.45
WellWishes$2.81

The gift is for you, not for us. We'd rather show the math than make bigger promises. Pick whichever setting feels right; you can change it any time in Settings, or let your guests decide at checkout.
A few questions, answered
- Who pays the gift fees?
- Your choice, per registry. By default your guests cover the processing fees so you receive the round amount you set. You can also share them 50/50, absorb them yourself or let each guest pick at checkout. Whatever you choose, the breakdown is shown to the guest before they confirm. No surprises on either side.
- What does the $200 cover?
- Publishing your registry: the live link your guests open, the dashboard you read messages from, hosting, the wedding-week summary email and support from a real person at hello@wellwishes.co.nz. A small processing fee (~$7 on card, ~$3 on bank transfer) sits on top so the $200 lands with us in full.
- Are gifts refundable?
- For 24 hours, yes. The gifter does it themselves. Every receipt email carries a one-tap refund link your guest can use up to a day after sending, no questions asked. After that window the gift is locked in; if something genuinely needs unwinding (a duplicate charge, a guest who paid twice), write to us at hello@wellwishes.co.nz and we'll sort it out one-on-one.
- Can I pay with anything other than card?
- Yes. POLi for NZ internet banking transfers. The processing fee is smaller (~$3 vs ~$7 on card) and the gift math at checkout is the same either way.
